Mediation:
Mediation is a means of reaching agreement over hard issues,
using one or more neutral parties to assist in communication.
We create a safe place for honest speaking and deep listening to take place.
The mediator does not decide anything:
the parties create their own agreement.
The process is voluntary and can be terminated
at any time by either party if agreement is not reached.
It is confidential.
Mediation is flexible and informal, and allows for great creativity by the parties.
It is quicker, less expensive and less stressful than court-based procedures.
Often, parties can reach agreement in one day.
Mediation is particularly appropriate for continuing relationships
(such as partnerships or family-owned businesses, workplace disputes,
divorcing parents, siblings, neighbors, churches or nonprofits).
Because agreements are created and owned by the parties,
they are much more likely to be honored.
We work with individuals, organizations and attorneys.
